Laser Lip and Tongue Tie Frenectomies
Tender Smiles 4 Kids was one of the first pediatric dental practices in New Jersey to incorporate laser dentistry into pediatric dental services. Soft tissue lasers are commonly used to release tethered oral tissues, including lip and/or tongue ties, to improve feeding and swallowing problems in both infants and children. They may also be used to remove excessive tissue (often to facilitate orthodontic treatment) and tethered oral tissues in adolescents, teenagers, and adults.

Dr. Max Sulla, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Max Sulla is a gentle, caring pediatric dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry with a strong emphasis on getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Max is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your child’s individual needs.
Dr. Liya Ostrow, Pediatric Dentist
Known as Dr. Liya, she emigrated from Russia in 1991 at the age of ten. She was a Summa Cum Laude graduate in 2003 from Hunter College in New York. That same year she relocated to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania Dental School where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree, Cum Laude.
Dr. Smita Lad, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Smita Lad was born in India and moved to the United States in elementary school. She worked as a dental assistant in high school to explore her passion for dentistry. She graduated with honors in Biology from Rutgers University and earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Scott Michels, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Scott Michels, affectionately known as “Dr. Scott,” joined the Tender Smiles 4 Kids team in July of 2015. Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Dr. Scott first realized his aptitude for helping children while working at a summer camp for children with physical disabilities.
Dr. Daniel Weidberg, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Daniel Weidberg grew up in Toronto, Canada. He received his Bachelors of Science from Touro College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Dan’s warm demeanor and calming presence makes even the most anxious child feel comfortable.
Dr. Michelle Chung, Pediatric Dentist
Originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Dr. Michelle attended the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a degree in Biology. She continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine with Honors in Community Oral Health.
Dr. Lisa Lian, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Lisa Lian grew up in Connecticut and recently moved to New Jersey. She graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Columbia University - New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She enjoys teaching future dentists as an Assistant Professor and Director for Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Raymond Kim, Orthodontist
Dr. Kim loves practicing orthodontics and looks forward to coming to the office every day. He is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date treatments available to his patients and has extensive experience utilizing either braces or Invisalign.
Dr. John-Vincent Quiao, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. John-Vincent Quiao was born and raised in Westchester, New York. As the first-born in the United States from an immigrant Filipino family, Dr. John brings a distinctive perspective to his practice. He recently relocated to Freehold, New Jersey, where his wife is pursuing her doctoral program at Rutgers University.
Dr. Naty Trejo, Orthodontist
Dr. Naty Trejo Dr. Trejo is thrilled to offer specialized orthodontic services to help you achieve your beautiful healthy smile. Her journey in dentistry began after her formative years, which were split between the vibrant cultures of the Dominican Republic, New York City and Florida.
